C.A.R.E. Program

Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health proudly offers the C.A.R.E. Program (Counseling for Addictions and Recovery Education), a half-day chemical dependency program for adults age 18 and older. This outpatient treatment option is designed to help improve patients’ personal health, wellness and quality of life using the disease concept of addiction and the 12-step model of recovery.

Daily psycho-educational and process-oriented groups are core elements of the C.A.R.E Program. Treatment may also include weekly multi-family group sessions. We also offer a weekly alumni night where program graduates offer personal insight on how their success with ongoing sobriety. For those with co-occurring disorders, treatment may include medication management and psychiatric consultation.

The C.A.R.E. Program takes place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We generally recommend a five-week treatment course, but specific times are determined based on each individual’s needs.

C.A.R.E. is Appropriate as:

  • A step-down for patients who have completed an inpatient program and need continued treatment.
  • Treatment for people with a co-occurring mental health disorder such as depression or anxiety.
